California Department of Transportation Revised September 23, 1994 <br /> Project No 102818A-01 <br /> Quality Assurance Laboratory on June 6, 1994 for chemical analysis Ninyo & Moore <br /> attempted to locate a qualified analytical laboratory in the Stockton area, however, due to <br /> associated increased costs in analysis and Caltrans contract limitations on Minority Business <br /> Enterprise (MBE) participation, Ninyo & Moore used Quality Assurance Laboratories as <br /> specified in the Caltrans contract agreement <br /> The purge water stored in 55-gallon drums was collected by Ramos Environmental on <br /> August 15, 1994 and transported under non-hazardous manifest No 93465317 to the Ramos <br /> Environmental Services facility located in West Sacramento, California for disposal A copy <br />' of the manifest for the purge water transfer is presented in Appendix B <br />' ANALYTICAL TESTING <br /> Groundwater samples collected were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as <br /> gasoline by EPA test method 8015-modified Department of Health Services (DHS), TPH as <br /> diesel by EPA test method 8015 modified DHS, and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and <br /> xylenes (BTEX) by EPA test method 8020 <br /> ANALYTICAL RESUL'T'S <br /> Elevated concentrations of TPH as gasoline were detected in groundwater samples collected <br />' from monitoring wells MW-A, MW-B, and MW-C TPH as gasoline was detected at <br /> concentrations of 1,500 micrograms per liter (µg/f) in MW-A, 588 µg/t in MW-B, and 1,200 <br />' Agit in MW-C TPH as diesel was not detected in concentrations greater than the detection <br /> limit in groundwater samples collected Elevated concentrations of BTEX were detected in <br />' groundwater samples collected from all three moratonng wells Concentrations of benzene <br /> ranged from 238 ug/I to 13,700 µg/f, concentrations of toluene ranged from 151 µg/e to 418 <br />' µg/C, concentrations of ethylbenzene ranged from less than the detection limit to 14 5 µg/e, <br /> and concentrations of xylenes ranged from 45 7µg/f to 295 µg/f A summary of the results <br />' of the groundwater analysis is presented in Table 2 The laboratory analytical report, <br /> including quality control/quality assurance data and chain of custody documentation, is <br />' presented as Appendix C. <br /> 3 <br /> 1 <br />
