1 KLE/NFELDER
V Mght ft ple.Ni9ht5IuWns.
samples will be labeled, logged on a chain-of-custody form, and immediately stored in an iced
cooler. The samples will be transported under chain-of-custody control to Kleinfelder's office
and then transported by courier in a chilled container to a State Certified Laboratory to perform
the requested analyses.
Kleinfelder is proposing the submittal of seven groundwater samples during the push probe
investigation for the following analyses (in accordance with the list of analyses) established by
the current Waste Discharge Requirements:
• Nitrates as Nitrogen (N) by EPA Method 300.0
• Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN) by EPA Method 351.1
• Total Dissolved Solids by EPA Method 2540 C
• pH by SM 4500-H
• Chloride by EPA Method 3010A
• Boron by EPA Method 3010A
• Iron by EPA Method 3010A
• Manganese by EPA Method 3010A
• Sodium by EPA Method 3010A
• Trihalomethanes by EPA Method 8260
• Alkalinity (bicarbonate, carbonate and hydroxide) by EPA Method 23206
• Calcium by EPA Method 3010
• Magnesium by EPA Method 3010
• Potassium by EPA Method 3010
• Total Hardness by EPA Method 3010
• Total Sulfate by EPA Method 300
The samples will be submitted on a standard 10 to 15 business day turn around time.
After completion of the initial sampling event, a bentonite seal will be placed above the sand
interval to surface grade. The temporary casings will be fitted with a PVC slip cap and enclosed
within irrigation boxes. Kleinfelder will evaluate and forward the initial data so the district can
decide if more sampling may be desired. After determining that the wells are no longer needed
by OLWD and that EHD requires destruction, the temporary wells will be pulled from the ground
and the boreholes will be closed by backfilling the borings with a neat cement grout on a
separate occasion. Probe cuttings and water will not be contained and will be spread around
the boring sites.
Task 3— Reporting
Upon completion of the field activities and receipt of the analytical results, a report of findings will
be prepared for client and agency review. The report will include:
124374.T1/ST013R0535 Copyright 2013 Kleinfelder
