Enclosed is a copy of the USEPA—Region 9 "Guidelines for Closur'le of Shallow Disposal Wells' <br /> 1992 . Please read the guidance document in its entirety. Section il, page 5 of the USEPA Guidelines <br /> are critical .to the success of your disposal well closure process, particularly the professional <br /> engineer/registered geologist and certification statement requirements. Please note the guidelines <br /> attached meet general federal requirements. California waste characterization methodologies are <br /> often different than federal standards, see California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 22, Division <br /> 4.5, Chapter 11 for details regarding waste analysis requirements at your`site. <br /> PHS/EHD has implemented a Local Aaency Groundwater Protection/Uriderground Injection Control <br /> Program fully endorsed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) in accordance <br /> with guidelines prepared by USEPA Region 9.
