Stantec
Work Plan for Vapor ProbeDestruction, Well Destruction, and Well Installation
ARCO Service Station No. 2186
October 14,2008
either;ten well volumes have been removed and physical-chemical parametertrends have stabilized
overthree consecutive measurements(<0.05 pH, 3%conductivity,and 10%temperature),ten well
volumes have been removed,or until the well has been purged-dry.(if the well does not sustain flow
or is slow to recover).
2.7 Waste Handling and Disposal
All investigation derived waste(IDW), including soil cuttings and purge water from well installation
and development, will-be stored on-site in Department of Transportation-approved containers
pending the results of laboratory analyses. Analytical results will be used for waste profiling and
disposal. After profiling, IDW will be transported and disposed of at an appropriate State-certified
disposal facility.
2.8 Reporting
A report summarizing the vapor probe and well destruction, well installation, and first batch
extraction event will be prepared and submitted to the SJCEHD. The report will include copies of
the vapor probe and well destruction permits, well installation permits, soil boring logs, field data
packages, field notes, necessary figures, and tabulated data for all analytical testing. In addition,
this report will be uploaded into Geotracker.
2.9 Schedule
Permits for destruction of the vapor probes and wells along with the well installation permits will be
submitted by Stratus to the SJCEHD under separate cover. Work will begin ten to 12 weeks
following the approval from the SJCEHD for this work plan and attaining all necessary permits. A
summary report will be completed 30 days after completion,of the field work.
2186 Work Plan for Vapor Probe Destruction, Well Destruction, and Well Installation.doc 5
