ii <br /> Ms Carol Oz Project 20805-147 007 <br /> April 15, 1999 <br /> Page 3 <br /> TASK 2 - Field Investigation <br /> The site investigation will consist of 3 CPT profiles to evaluate subsurface stratigraphy <br /> and collection of HydroPunch groundwater samples at shallow and deep intervals to <br /> evaluate the lateral and vertical extent of groundwater impacts CPT-1 is located cross <br /> gradient and north of the site within Alpine Street CPT-2 is located directly <br /> downgradient from well MW-1 along the eastern property boundary and CPT-3 is located <br /> downgradient of VW-3 along the eastern property boundary Proposed CPT locations are <br /> shown on Figure 2 CPT boreholes will be grouted upon completion using bentonite grout <br /> pumped through CPT rods to the base of the bore holes <br /> Separate borings will be installed for collection of groundwater samples In order to <br /> reduce the potential for cross-contamination, the borings will be sealed behind the <br /> advancing sampler using bentonite grout Groundwater samples will be collected using <br /> HydroPunch sampling equipment from the first-encountered water bearing zone at <br /> approximately 35 to 40 feet bgs and from the lower water bearing zone at approximately <br /> 80 feet bgs HydroPunch sampling equipment will be disabled and decontaminated after <br /> sampling using a steam cleaner Boreholes will be grouted upon completion as described <br /> above <br /> Groundwater samples collected during the investigation will be submitted to a state- <br /> certified analytical laboratory (Sequoia Analytical) and analyzed for total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) and the gasoline constituents benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) using U S Environmental Protection Agency <br /> Methods 8015/8020 to provide information for additional lateral and vertical plume <br /> definition Additionally, these samples will be analyzed using Method 8260 for MTBE <br /> and other oxygenates Pinnacle's field procedures are presented in Appendix C <br /> TASK 3 - Report Preparation <br /> Pinnacle will prepare a detailed report presenting the assessment results The report will <br /> include the following items <br /> • summary of procedures implemented during the assessment <br /> • summary of the assessment findings <br /> • groundwater analytical results, including copies of analytical reports <br /> CP\E 1ARC0121861REPORTS12186P103 DOC-99\1sg 1 l' "44& <br />
