Additional Assessment Workplan
White Arrow
2402 South California Street
Stockton,California 95206
Partner Project Number 14-117725.2
October 8,2014
Page 13
Subsurface Investigation Scope of Work
The primary objective of the project is to delineate the extent of identified petroleum hydrocarbon
impacts to soil along the southern edge of the subject property as a consequence of a release or releases
from the former fuel oil tank and oil house. To accomplish this objective, Partner proposes to advance six
soil borings(613 through B18).
Field Activities
Utility Clearance
Partner will delineated the work area with white spray paint and notify Underground Services Alert (USA)
North to clear public utility lines as required by law at least 48 hours prior to drilling activities.
Permitting
Prior to drilling, Partner will secure a boring permit from the EHD for soil sampling.
Notification
Partner will notify the property owner and the appropriate agencies a minimum of 5 business days prior
to initiation of field activities.
Health and Safety Plan
Prior to commencement of site activity, the health and safety plan will be reviewed during a tail gate
meeting with all on-site personnel involved in the project.
Drilling Equipment
The borings will be advanced with a truck-mounted direct-push drill rig. The ground surface is unpaved
at each location. Prior to drilling, the boring will be cleared of utility lines by manually excavating the
upper 3 feet of the borehole with hand auger equipment.
Boring Locations
Two of the borings will be advanced in the vicinity of the previously detected exceedances (at B4 and B5).
Four step-out borings will be advanced to the northwest (one boring), north (two borings), and northeast
(one boring) of the first two borings. The proposed boring locations are shown on Figure 2.
Sampling Depths
Each boring will be advanced to a terminal depth of 25 feet bgs, collecting soil samples continuously to
the terminal depth.
Equipment Decontamination
Down-hole sampling equipment will be decontaminated between samples in a non-phosphate detergent
and rinsed with distilled water.
PARTNER
