' 24 September 1999
' AGE-NC Project No. 96-0232
Page 5 of 12
' Preparation of Corrective Action Plan.
3.1. PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES
Applicable site assessment permits will be submitted to the PHS-EHD. As required by PHS-EHD
permitting, a health and safety plan will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and
' Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational
Safety and Health Administration, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency,
1985). Prior to drilling activities, each proposed drilling location will be clearly marked and a utility
' clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert.
' 3.2. SOIL PROBE BORING ACTIVITIES
' Initially, AGE proposes to advance 10 soil probe borings at the site to evaluate soil-gas organic
vapor concentrations in the vadose zone near the existing UST system; one soil probe boring will
be utilized to collect soil samples to evaluate feasibility of bioremediation at the site. Additional
' probe borings may be required to completely delineate any impacted soil and/or ground water
encountered. Proposed soil boring locations are illustrated in Figure 2.
' Based on the configuration of the existing UST system at the, AGE proposes advancement of probe
borings to evaluate soil-gas organic vapor concentrations in the following locations:
' • Approximately 5 to 15 feet east of UST No. 1 beneath the main trench product piping area;
• Approximately 25 to 35 feet east of UST No. 1 beneath the fueling dispenser area;
' • Approximately 5 to 15 feet east of UST No. 2 beneath the main trench product piping area;
• Approximately 25 to 35 feet east of UST No. 2 beneath the fueling dispenser area;
' • Approximately 5 to 15 feet east of UST No. 3 beneath the main trench product piping area;
• Approximately 25 to 35 feet east of UST No. 3 beneath the fueling dispenser area;
' • Approximately 5 to 15 feet southeast of UST No. 4 near the UST cavity;
• Approximately 5 to 15 feet east of UST No. 4 near the UST system;
• Approximately 5 to 15 feet west of UST No. 1 near the UST cavity;
• An additional boring will be advanced approximately 10 to 20 feet west of MW-I to evaluate
' feasibility of bioremediation at the site;
Initially, each soil-gas vapor probe boring will be advanced to 10 feet bsg; one soil probe boring will
' be advanced to 40 feet bsg for bioremediation analysis. AGE will advance probe borings at the site
Adranred GeoEnviron mental,Inc.
1
