' 24 September 1999
AGE-NC Project No. 96-0232
' using a Geoprobe 5400 soil probing unit. Probe boring advancement and sample collection are
described in Section 4.3. below.
' 3.2.1. Laboratory Analysis
' Selected soil-gas organic vapor samples will be analyzed by a DHS-certified laboratory for the
following constituents:
' • TPH-g in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified/5030; and
• BTEX and MTBE in accordance with EPA Method 8020.
1
Selected soil samples will be submitted to a microbiological laboratory for microbial enumeration
' and physicochemical analysis to determine feasibility of bioremediation at the site. Results of the
bioremediation analysis will provide an evaluation of naturally occurring micro-organisms and
physicochemical conditions at the site in respect to support microbial growth and bioremedial
' activity.
Laboratory reports for soil analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control
(QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with
findings and recommendations.
' 3.3. WELL INSTALLATION
' At least two ground water monitoring wells will be installed at the site to further assess petroleum
hydrocarbon impact to shallow ground water. Proposed monitoring well locations are illustrated on
' Figure 2. The proposed well locations were selected to provide definition of the lateral extent of
dissolved hydrocarbons. Monitoring of the wells should provide data to determine if the dissolved
plume is migrating or stable.
' Based on ground water data collected during the ongoing investigation of petroleum-hydrocarbon
' impact, AGE proposes installation of ground water monitoring wells in the following areas:
• approximately 50 feet west of well MW-7 to assess down-gradient dissolved-impact;
' • approximately 50 feet south of well MW-7 to assess down-gradient dissolved-impact.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
1
