' 24 September 1999
AGE-NC Project No. 96-0232
' The proposed ground water monitoring wells shall be advanced approximately 25 feet bsg. However,
total depths of wells may vary according to hydrogeologic conditions during drilling activities. Field
procedures for advancement of borings and well installations are presented in Section 4.1.
' Selected soil samples will be analyzed by a DHS-certified laboratory for the following constituents:
' • TPH-g and TPH-d in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified/5030;
• BTEX compounds and MTBE in accordance with EPA Method 8020; and
• Fuel oxygenates including MTBE,TBA,di-isopropyl ether(DIPS), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether
(ETBE) and tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME) by EPA Method 8260 Modified.
' Laboratory reports for soil analysis, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control
' (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with
findings and recommendations.
' 3.4. PILOT STUDY
' Following well installations, a pilot study is proposed at the site to evaluate several alternatives for
soil and ground water remediation; the proposed pilot study should consist of an eight-hour ground
water pump (drawdown) pilot test.
' The proposed drawdown pilot test will be designed to obtain general aquifer characteristics such
' as hydraulic conductivity, transmissivity and drawdown at various pumping rates. Results of the
eight-hour drawdown pilot test would evaluate the potential of induced ground water drawdown
for plume capture in conjunction with SVE; the pump test will also help to evaluate the feasibility
tof ex-situ ground water "pump and treat" as a remedial alternative.
' 3.5. DOWN-HOLE CAMERA PROBE
Since well construction details are not readily available for the domestic drinking water well
located at Rocky's Restaurant, a down-hole camera video-probe is proposed to identify the
screened interval of the well and to assess the integrity of the well.
' 3.6. PREPARATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION PLAN
' Upon completion of the pilot study, a corrective action plan (CAP) will be prepared presenting the
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
1
