Emergency conditions are considered to exist if. <br /> - Any member of the project are is involved in an accident or experiences <br /> any adverse effects of symptoms of exposure while on site. <br /> ' - A condition is discovered that suggests the existence of a situation more <br /> hazardous than anticipated. <br /> 3.2 Emergency Procedures <br /> ' In the event of an emergency, the following emergency procedures should be <br /> followed. Personnel on site should use the "buddy" system (pairs). Buddies should <br /> prearrange hand signals or other mean of communication. In emergencies the <br /> following hand signals are suggested: <br /> ' - Hand gripping throat: out of air, can't breathe. <br /> Grip partner's wrist or place both hands around waist: leave area <br /> immediately, no debate! <br /> ' - Hands on top of head: need assistance. <br /> - Thumbs up: OK, Pm all right, I understand. <br /> - Thumbs down: No, negative. <br /> 1 <br />
