' HARGIS+ASSOCIATES, INC. •
1
' Timothy J. Verhagen, Esq.
July 16, 1993
Page 2
1 .0 WATER LEVEL MONITORING
' Water levels were measured in piezometers and shallow zone monitor wells
on April 26, 1993 (Table 3) . Water levels were measured in all wells, including
those measured on April 26, 1993, except known dry wells and obstructed wells on
' April 27, 1993.
Reclamation wellfield wells were pumping when water levels were measured
on April 27, 1993, with the exception of intermediate zone reclamation well I-8
' which was measured on May 1, 1993 (Table 3) . The water level elevation in
100-foot sand reclamation well I-1 (MW-3) was approximately -65.7 feet mean sea
level (msl ) (Figure 2) . Water level elevations in intermediate zone reclamation
wells ranged from approximately -48.7 feet msl in reclamation well I-8 to
approximately -80. 1 feet msl in reclamation well I-10 (Figure 3) . Reclamation
well I-8 is located in the MCTC facility north yard. Reclamation well I-10 is
located on Washington Street between Coolidge Avenue and Carrol Avenue. The
' water level elevation in reclamation well D-1 was approximately -80.2 feet msl
(Figure 4) . A water level was not measured in reclamation well D-2 because
access was obstructed. Reclamation well D-1 is located in the MCTC facility
' south yard. Reclamation well D-2 is located on Sinclair Avenue south of Horner
Avenue.
' 1 . 1 Shallow Zone
On April 26, 1993, 6 of 7 shallow zone piezometers and 21 of 29 shallow
' zone monitor wells and nonpumping reclamation wells were dry (Table 3) . Water
levels were remeasured in all shallow zone wells except known dry wells on
April 27, 1993.
' The water level elevation in piezometer P-224 was approximately 3.0 feet
msl . Piezometer P-224 is located in the northwestern corner of the MCTC north
yard. The water level in piezometer P-224 may be influenced by infiltration of
surface water, and therefore may not represent the actual groundwater conditions.
Water level elevations in 8 of 29 shallow zone monitor wells and nonpumping
' reclamation wells ranged from approximately -37.7 feet msl in monitor well MW-103
to -53.6 feet msl in monitor well MW-9. The water level in monitor well MW-103
represents residual water that is present in the blank casing below the screened
interval , and therefore does not represent actual groundwater conditions.
' Monitor well MW-103 is located at the southwest corner of the MCTC facility north
yard. Monitor well MW-9 is located in the southwest corner of the MCTC south
yard.
1
