Tjosvold, P.E.
January 25, 1996
Page 3
preliminary results of fate and transport modeling which is being done to evaluate PNAs
and BTEX in the non-source areas.
The third quarter monitoring report was submitted to DTSC and the RWQCB on October
31, 1995. The collection of monthly groundwater elevation measurements continued
through December, 1995. The fourth quarter monitoring event was conducted December
4 and 5, 1995. The results of this fourth quarter monitoring event will be presented in the
fourth quarter monitoring report which will be submitted to DTSC and the RWQCB by
January 31, 1996.
III. Schedule Changes:
An updated project schedule which incorporates performing a treatability study prior to
the final Soil OUFS will be submitted to DTSC.
IV. Activities Planned for Next Quarter:
The final Soil OUFS is scheduled to be delivered to DTSC and the RWQCB in June,
1996. This final Soil OUFS will incorporate the criteria used to define the soil source
areas, the results of fate and transport modeling done on PNAs and BTEX in the non-
source soils, the results of the treatability study, and DTSC's and RWQCB's comments on
the draft Soil OUFS. Revised sections of the Soil OUFS which discuss the criteria used to
define the source areas and the results of fate and transport modeling being done on PNAs
and BTEX in the soil will be submitted to DTSC and the RWQCB for their review prior
to submittal of the final Soil OUFS. The results of the treatability study done to evaluate
the effectiveness of the proposed soil remedial action will be available in early May, 1996
and will be discussed with the agencies at that time.
The draft Phase IV groundwater investigation work plan to install six additional
groundwater monitoring wells at the site was delivered to DTSC and the RWQCB on
January 8, 1996. A conference call to discuss this draft work plan took place on January
22, 1996 and the work plan will be finalized in February, 1996. Phase IV work to install
the monitoring wells is scheduled to begin in April, 1996.
"The Quarterly Monitoring Report, PG&E Stockton Former MGP Site, Fourth Quarter,
1995", will be submitted to DTSC and the RWQCB by January 31, 1996.
The next quarterly groundwater monitoring will be conducted in March, 1996.
