29 December 2006 RB2 WED
AGE-NC Project No. 00-0769 JAN 2 4 2007
Page 2 of 5
ENVIRONMENT HEALTH
PERMIT/SERVICES
2. 1 , PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES
Applicable site assessment permits will be obtained from the EHD and any necessary encroachment
permits from the City of Stockton. As required by EHD permitting, a health and safety plan will be
prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous
Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U.S.
Coast Guard and U. S . Environmental Protection Agency, 1985). Prior to mobilization, each soil
probe location will be clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained through Underground Service
Alert.
2.2, CPT ADVANCEMENT AND GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION
AGE proposes to initially advance six CPT soil borings to characterize lithology, potential
contaminant migration pathways and to assess the lateral and vertical extent of petroleum
hydrocarbon-impacted ground water. Tbree additional borings are proposed on a contingency basis.
Proposed CPT soil boring locations are illustrated in Figure 2. Based on petroleum hydrocarbon-
impact encountered during previous investigations, AGE proposes CPT soil borings in the following
locations:
• Approximately 80 feet north of the UST #2 and UST #3 location;
• Approximately 160 feet northwest of monitoring well MW-8 ;
• Approximately 120 feet northwest of boring CPT-02 on the east side of Center Street;
• Approximately 180 feet northeast ofmonitoring well MW-7 onprivate property (APN #147-
190-07);
• Approximately 200 feet east of monitoring well MW-7 on the west side of El Dorado Street;
and
• Approximately 200 feet east to southeast of monitoring well MW-7 on the west side of El
Dorado Street.
The contingency borings are proposed if samples from the eastern-most borings are impacted. The
contingency borings are proposed for the following locations:
• At the northeast edge of the city block north of well MW-7;
• Along the east side of South El Dorado Street; and
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc,
