located on the property to the east; it will be necessary to obtain permission from
the owners before work can start. USA will be contacted to clear both locations
in advance of commencement of operations.
1. Mobilize a properly licensed auger rig equipped with sufficient dean augers
to complete each well without having to clean flights.
2. Coring equipment to consist of at least two (2) split-spoon samplers to allow
cleaning of the sample barrel between cores. It may be necessary to take
continuous cores through specified intervals.
3. Cores will be taken at 5' intervals from 20' bgl to 65' or at every apparent
change in lithology, or as indicated by field conditions. The report covering the
placement of the three monitoring wells indicated a perched water table at 57'
bgl, but the evidence is inconclusive. Drilling will continue until there is no
evidence of contamination in the samples.
4. Each core will be examined by the onsite geologist; a portion will be placed in
a ziplock bag and tested for vapors with a PID meter, and another portion will be
preserved for analysis. Drilling and coring operations will follow standard field
protocol.
5. Drill spoils and unused core material will be placed in metal drums, clearly
labeled and tightly sealed. They will be stored on site pending laboratory
results, and will be properly disposed of.
6. Each soil boring will be completed by running blank and slotted 2"flush
screw, joint PVC casing and sand packing as required. A schematic of the well
completions is shown on PLATE IV. Unless field evidence warrants changes,
the wells will consist of 20 feet of slots and the remainder blank. Groundwater
was measured at about 32' bgl in July; it will be measured in one of the existing
wells prior to completing.
7. After completion of the wells, they will be developed, purged, and sampled
within 48 hours using San Joaquin Co. EHD approved methods.
8. Both soil and water samples will be transferred under chain of custody to a
State Certified laboratory with instructions to analyse for BTEX, TPHg, and
oxygenates using Tri-Regional & San Joaquin Co. approved procedures and
detection limits.
3
