Hunter and associates for the above referenced site.
In their March 15, 1996 report, William J. Hunter and Associates recommend that monitoring of the wells
be conducted semi-annually. The justification for the request, as stated in the report, is that over a three
year period conditions beneath this site have been relatively stable and do not require quarterly data.
PHS/EHD concurs with the justification for the request and will allow semi annual monitoring to be
conducted at this site until conditions at the site warrant more frequent monitoring.
In the same report, William J. Hunter and Associates request status reports of the Darpetro Exxon
investigation at 749 E Charter Way. During a meeting at the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control
Board (CVRWQCB) offices, which occurred on February 7, 1994, an agreement was reached to delay
further investigation of your site until the extent of the plume originating from 749 East Charter Way is
defined. At the present time, the plume originating from 749 East Charter Way has not been defined.
Groundwater at your site has not been analyzed for methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE). PHS/EHD requires
an MTBE analysis of groundwater samples obtained during the next scheduled monitoring. If MTBE is
detected then this analysis shall be conducted whenever groundwater at this site is analyzed. If MTBE
is not detected after two sampling events then the MTBE analysis will no longer be required.
Please call Steven Sasson at (209) 468-3459 for further information.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
:Einviromental Health Division
Steven Sa on, SenHS Margaret agorio, RENS
Site Mitigation Unit Lead Senior
SS
cc: Elizabeth Thayer- CVRWQCB
cc: Annabel Mackey- SWRCB
cc: Bill Hunter- W.J.
