The <br /> Contingency plan review includes and is not limited to the following who the emergency <br /> coordinator is,the functions of the coordinator and his/her alternate coordinator. In the <br /> plan, we review the need to keep flammables put away in the right locations, and hazards <br /> which need to be addressed. Emergency evacuation area. Primary location is North <br /> eastern area by the rail tracks and the secondary is the facility next door should it be <br /> deemed safe to stay out of the rain and cold. 3. (Eye wash) and spill equipment Know the <br /> locations of the eye wash areas, and the overhead showers'. Review of location of the <br /> spill equipment, and what to do in the event of a spill. Contact Primary Co-coordinator, <br /> assure area is secure and safe from others who may enter a hazardous area, secure area, <br /> and apply absorbents and or plug drains to prevent a release into the environment. <br /> 4. Chemical locations and procedures of a chemical arriving with no label. Know the <br /> location of each chemical and how to inventory the chemicals on site. Review of the <br /> procedures should a chemical arrive with no label and who to inform. A) Contact the <br /> manager and notify of the chemical with no label. B) Bring into inventory only if the <br /> chemical can positively be identified with a previous SDS document. C) Place item in <br /> isolated area until it can be identified, and or refuse the chemical from being delivered <br /> Pictograms also reviewed. Posters are posted in each location of chemicals and in <br /> hallway near bathrooms. Pictograms are explained as to their meaning and why they are <br /> present. 4. PPE(Personal Protective Equipment): PPE is provided at no cost and anyone <br /> not utilizing the PPE as mandated and as required, shall be disciplined for the infraction, <br /> up to and including termination. PPE is mandatory, hard hat to protect from overhead <br /> objects and up to and including falling objects. Hand protection is provided, gloves of <br /> different textures and of different type are provided, weather it is for hot items being <br /> handled and or trash. Leather, latex, and or woven gloves are provided at no cost and it is <br /> mandatory to have on. Boots, the boots an employee shall provide. Employee shall not <br /> have tennis shoes on at any time and shall always use boots while working. Pants and <br /> proper shirts are mandatory. No sweat pants and or shorts may be utilized.No t-shirts <br /> such as tank tops may be used. There is no exception. 5 Hydration, Heat Illness <br /> Prevention Program: refresher: Weather/Heat awareness. Know your body, assure that <br /> you are hydrated and that you carry water with you. It is not good to drink caffeinated <br /> items and or items that will only make you thirsty for water. Remember, if you break- <br /> down, you will need water with you as temperatures do rise and you may be parked for <br /> some time. Stay hydrated and call for assistance should you feel heat stress and or illness. <br /> Hand out given. Symptom overview performed, and incident or near miss shall be <br /> documented. Employees are reminded, to take breaks, drink more water, know their <br /> body, stay protected, reminding the employee, that heavy clothing will make a person <br /> dehydrate as well, as the body is insulated and will lose its moisture through sweat. Sip <br /> water, do not drink water as it could come back up as vomit. Sit in a cool place and notify <br /> management and a co-worker if needed, and assistance shall be provided. Ice packs to the <br /> left and back of the neck shall be administered, and under the arm pit left side. <br /> Employees shall understand, that management may have to strip a person of clothing and <br /> or douse a person with cold water to reduce and lower the core temperature. All <br /> employees rendering aid, shall protect themselves first and voluntarily provide aid if they <br /> chose to. 6. Lock out tag out.Review.No employee is authorized and or is certified to re- <br /> wire and or hardwire any electrical outlets or circuits' in the facility, we do contract out <br />
