southwest half of the tank two location The intended
. excavation demensions will be 20 'x 401 (see attached
drawings) . The plan is to excavate to a depth of 20 ' and
adjustments in width and depth made of necessary. The
resulting excavation will be approximately 20 ' wide by 40 '
long by 18 to 20 ' deep. Pipeline excavation will began at
the northwest boundry of the tank two location and extend
along the pipeline route a distance of 701 , 6 ' in width and
6 ' deep. Adjustments can be made of necessary The total
amount of additional soil to be removed will be
approximately 250 cubic yards for a total of approximately
400 cubic yards including previously excavated soil . Every
effort will be made to separate contaminated soil from the
clean Clean soil will be stored on site for use in
backfill operation. Obviously contaminated spoil will be
placed on plastic sheeting and covered with same if
necessary After an actual volume and contamination levels
are determined, soil will be transported to Forward Inc .
for treatment .
7 Soil Sampling Soil sampling will be
accomplished by retrieving samples from the appropriate
areas with the excavator bucket . Samples will be taken
from the bucket by GeoAn.alytical Laboratories
representative on site . All sampling and analyses will
follow LUFT guidelines Samples will be transported by the
GeoAnalytical representative directly to their
Laboratories, located in Modesto, CA under chain of
custody Samples will be tested for TPH-D, K, M.O. and BTE
& X We propose to take 4 sadewall and 3 bottom samples
from the tank excavation and 4 along the bottom of the
pipeline excavation. Samples will be taken equidistant
around the perimeter and along the length of the bottom of
the excavations [see attached drawing] . Locations of the
samples may change at the direction of SJHS/EHD
representative on site . We propose 4 samples (8 discrete to
form the 4 composites) from the spoil pale at the direction
of the SJPHS/EHD representative . The total number of
samples may be altered if conditions or volumes warrant a
change
8 Temporary Fence A temporary fence has been
placed around the excavation and will remain in place until
at as backfilled
3
