The age of this AST is <br /> estimated at not greater than 20 years [22CCR§66265.192(k)(3)]. The remaining <br /> service life is estimated at 10 years [22CCR§ 66265.192(k)(11)]. Additional AST <br /> specifications are included as Table 2. <br /> 2.1.3. Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) Construction <br /> The AST specifications are shown on Figure 1 and is described with features, including: <br /> General shape is rectangular; <br /> Orientation is length wise, north to south [22CCR§66265.192 (k)(1)]; <br /> Industry standard for AST construction is A36 steel with the primary tank top, <br /> side wall, end wall and bottom measuring approximately 9/64-inch, 3/16-inch, <br /> 7/64-inch and 9/64-inch respectively. The secondary tank top, side wall, end wall <br /> and bottom measure approximately 7/64-inch in thickness <br /> [22CCR§66265.192(k)(2)(A)] as measure by measuring tape; <br /> Though the original black paint coat appears slightly faded, with minimal areas <br /> showing bear steel, the AST is within a precipitation free enclosure. The visible <br /> tank surface appeared in fair condition. Information on the original corrosion <br /> protection coatings were not available from the manufacturer <br /> [22CCR§66265.192(k)(5)]; and <br /> Has not been attached to the ground. <br /> 2.1.4. AST Ancillary Equipment <br /> The AST ancillary equipment includes the visual overflow inspection ports and vent <br /> piping, with a remote fill from the auto service, sub floor drain pans and lines. <br /> 2.2. OVERFLOW PROTECTION <br /> The overflow protection system is comprised of the visual inspection ports. The AST is <br /> typically not filled past an 95% level and an overflow audible alarm is installed and <br /> inspected regularly. <br />
