derived from the guar bean. It is used in a purified form to
thicken foods such as ice cream. The flow conditioner is a
calcium phosphate identical to that used to maintain the flowing
properties of ordinary table salt. The coloring agent is used in
order to provide visibility so that the pilot of the applying
aircraft can identify the area already treated and to allow
aircraft drops to be tied together. The fading or fugitive
colorant used in D -75F retardant is a solid pigment. While its
exact structure has not been divulged by the manufacturer, it is
composed of a C I Solvent Red 1 dyed petroleum hydrocarbon resin.
The resin is essentially inert; the dye has been approved for use
in marking meat grades and in the coloring of paper products
suitable as food wrap. The proprietary minor component blend is
composed of very small quantities of a number of ingredients to
control the corrosivity of the solution, to minimize foam
formation, and to prevent bacterial and hydrolytic degradation of
the polysaccharide thickener. There are no heavy metals or
aromatic organic chemicals present in this mixture.
The Phos-Chek retardants have been tested per the Health and
Safety requirements included in the U.S. Forest Service
specifications for long term fire retardants, i.e. Interim
Specification 5100-00304 dated February 1982. The products all
passed these requirements and are fully approved for use.
We appreciate your interest in our products.
