a
I E
Sampling Plan - 152 East 11th Street, Tracy, CA r Page 7
 V E"
1 14C
MAY 14 1993
SAMPLING PLAN
l=NVIROMWAL t4ALTH
Objectives
The proposed groundwater sampling plan is designed to cost-effectively achieve the
following objectives
1 To advance understanding of groundwater quality conditions
2 To monitor seasonal variation in groundwater elevations and gradients in the area of the
subject properties
3 To monitor fluctuations and other tune-dependent changes in the concentrations of fuel
hydrocarbon components in the groundwater
4 To monitor groundwater quality around the perimeter of the area that has been affected
by fuel hydrocarbons so as to detect any further migration of contaminants that might
occur and to detect the presence, or arrival, of any fuel hydrocarbons that have leaked
from up-gradient or co-gradient sources
5 To and planning for any remedial action program that may be required
Monitoring Wells to be Sampled.
SAMPLING TO ESTABLISH A UNIFIED DATA BASE
Following installation of the proposed new wells that are designated NAV 5 through NAV
8 on Figure 2, samples will be recovered from all of the Navarra and Ultramar wells (i e
Wells NAV 1 through NAV 8 and ULT 1 through ULT 9) This will establish a common
unified suite of sample analysis and groundwater elevation data that has not heretofore
been available Subject to issuance of a permit for the work by the City of Tracy,
installation of new wells NAV 5 through NAV 8 is currently scheduled for June 1993
SAMPLING TO MONITOR CHANGING CONDITIONS
To meet the above-stated objectives of the sampling pian, the following groups of
monitoring wells will be sampled according to the seasonal schedule that is defined later
(The well locations are shown on Figure 2)
Wells on the Plume P nmeter
The following well, samples from which have been free of any detectable concentrations of
contaminants since the inception of sampling on the 152 East 11th Street property, will be
sampled to detect the arrival of any hydrocarbon fuel components migratmg into the area
from any sources upgradient and to the South of the property
