COMMUNICATIONS PLAN <br /> NOTIFICATION OF AREA WARDENS <br /> Facility Threat Coordinator or Alerting Aides phone Area Wardens, or otherwise make personal contact. <br /> Area Wardens will then access i-Com Radios for continuous contact with FTC. Note facility-specific <br /> radio channel, radio group code, and ensure Smart Ring function is off. <br /> NOTIFICATION OF EMPLOYEES <br /> When notified by the FTC,the Area Wardens will proceed as directed to notify employees in their <br /> assigned area to either evacuate or shelter-in-place. <br /> USE • F I-COM RADIOS <br /> In an emergency,the i-com radio has been provided to communicate with others from your facility who <br /> have roles in your facility's emergency plan. <br /> TURNING THE RADIO ON <br /> Push POWER for 1 second to turn the power on.The power ON indicator and Operating Channel <br /> number appear on the display. IF there is an image of a key in the top left corner,the phone is locked <br /> from changing any settings.You will need to power off,then power on and keep holding the power <br /> button until the key disappears. <br /> ADJUSTING THE VOLUME <br /> 1. Push and hold MODE for i second to open the SQUELCH.A BUSY indicator appears on the <br /> display while the squelch is open. <br /> i. Adjust the audio to a suitable level using VOL. <br /> 3. Push and hold MODE for i second to close the squelch. <br /> ADJUSTING THE SETTINGS <br /> For the radios in your facility to communicate with each other, everyone must be on the SAME channel, <br /> using the SAME group code and the SR function must be OFF. By applying the LOCK function,the <br /> settings cannot be accidentally changed. Set the radio to the facility-specific settings: <br /> Assigned radio channel: Use up and down arrow buttons to select channel <br /> Assigned radio group code: Press mode button to switch to the group code; it appears as a <br /> smaller-looking number adjacent to the channel number on the display <br /> Smart Ring(SR)function: OFF --When you press mode and see"5r-on"means Smart Ring <br /> on; select the down arrow.The display will now read"5r-of'. <br /> 5 SJCPHS Emergency Plan—January 2019 <br />
