NOTE: There are two models of i-com radios within PHS. One has a fixed <br /> antenna and the other has a flip-up antenna. The flip antenna version does <br /> not have the SR function, so disregard that step for that radio. <br /> Lock the settings: Press and hold to power on—KEEP HOLDING until a lock symbol appears <br /> then release your finger. The settings are now locked. <br /> CONFIRM SETTINGS ARE CORRECT <br /> A small image of a key will appear in the top corner of the display on the radio.The assigned channel <br /> and group code for your facility should appear on the display. If the channel and group code are not <br /> correct,follow the steps below to program and lock the radio. If your radio has a fixed-in-place antenna, <br /> follow the steps above to confirm that the SR function is off. <br /> POWER OFF <br /> Press and hold the power button to turn off. <br /> IMONTHLY RADIO CHECK <br /> The Facility Threat Coordinator will initiate a test of the communications systems each month by <br /> conducting a radio-check with all Area Wardens.This radio-check is scheduled at gam on the last <br /> Wednesday of each month.The FTC will notify each Area Warden, in sequence,to ensure all radios are <br /> working.Area Wardens that miss the radio-check will be contacted by phone or email and given the <br /> opportunity to conduct the radio-check at that time. <br /> In an event where power is not available and/or VOIP phones are not working, each facility has <br /> hardwired telephones.
