NOTE: There are two models of i-com radios within PHS. One has a fixed
antenna and the other has a flip-up antenna. The flip antenna version does
not have the SR function, so disregard that step for that radio.
Lock the settings: Press and hold to power on—KEEP HOLDING until a lock symbol appears
then release your finger. The settings are now locked.
CONFIRM SETTINGS ARE CORRECT
A small image of a key will appear in the top corner of the display on the radio. The assigned channel
and group code for your facility should appear on the display. If the channel and group code are not
correct, follow the steps below to program and lock the radio. If your radio has a fixed-in-place antenna,
follow the steps above to confirm that the SR function is off.
POWER OFF
Press and hold the power button to turn off.
IMONTHLY RADIO CHECK
The Facility Threat Coordinator will initiate a test of the communications systems each month by
conducting a radio-check with all Area Wardens. This radio-check is scheduled at gam on the last
Wednesday of each month. The FTC will notify each Area Warden, in sequence,to ensure all radios are
working.Area Wardens that miss the radio-check will be contacted by phone or email and given the
opportunity to conduct the radio-check at that time.
In an event where power is not available and/or VOIP phones are not working, each facility has
hardwired telephones. Use these as the need arises.
Hazelton Administration:front desk 468-0348
Vital Records:front counter 468-2834
Community Services: North desk 468-2328
TB/CD:front desk 953-7977
BSL Lab 468-3870
Grand Canal Front desk 953-361-2
Wilson Way Health Promotions: copier 468-3233
IT back room: BLACK PHONE 468-8625
MCAH: Office Asst. office 468-2072
6 SJCPHS Emergency Plan—January 2019
