The letter seeks authorization to
close Well MW-7. The following additional information is necessary so that staff can consider the request
to close the well.
By 12 August 2005, Triple E shall submit a Facility Status Report (FSR)that describes the facility
operation, current wastewater generation rates, sources of the wastewater, a wastewater flow chart, and a
figure drawn to scale that identifies all wastewater treatment, storage, and land application areas. The FSR
shall include an evaluation of the current groundwater monitoring network and make recommendations on
adding or removing wells from the network. At a minimum, the groundwater monitoring network shall
provide samples upgradient and downgradient of land application areas and/or wastewater storage ponds. If
wastewater is mixed with stormwater, then stormwater ponds shall be similarly monitored. Pending review
of the FSR, staff will consider the request to close Well MW-7.
As discussed in the 25 March 2005 No Further Action Required correspondence prepared by Regional
Board staff, the Monitoring and Reporting Program (MRP) Order No. 99-123 will be updated to make it
consistent with other tomato processing facilities in the Central Valley Region. However at this time more
information is required to allow the MRP revision. The FSR should provide that information.
Please note that Waste Discharge Requirements Order No. 99-123 remains active. Please transmit any
correspondence related to food processing wastewater generation, storage, or disposal,to my attention.
