Task 9- 72-Hour Groundwater Pump Test Workplan
A 72-hour groundwater pump test will be conducted on monitoring well
PT-MW-3 in an attempt to identify transmissivity and other hydrologic
properties in the shallow aquifer both on and off site Variations of
groundwater extraction rates and drawdown in the other monitoring wells
onsite will help to determine shallow aquifer properties and identify if a
groundwater pump and treat system would be a likely remediation plan for
groundwater cleanup The pump test will also remove existing free-
product from the previously identified area on the property where
maximum concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons are present
Transducers will be placed in the other wells during the test to determine
aquifer response A separate and detailed workplan for this test will be
developed and submitted to PHSEHD for review and approval as part of
this task
Task 10- Problem Assessment Report Preparation
A Problem Assessment Report (PAR) will be prepared that will have
incorporated within it a Site Conceptual Model with all available data
This report will take all existing data and present it in the correct manner
to describe the nature and extent of the soil and groundwater
contamination encountered and recommended follow-up actions At a
minimum the report will include (1) a discussion of the site history, (2) a
description of the fieldwork conducted at the site, (3) the analytical
laboratory results, (4) a scaled site plan map, (5) drilling logs, (6) an
estimation of contaminant mass, (7) computerized modeling results, and
(8) conclusions The PAR will also address data gaps that exist and any
recommended further investigation required The Problem Assessment
Report will also include Human Health Risk Assessment as a Tier 2 Risk
Based Corrective Action (RSCA) analysis based on site-specific data
obtained from subsurface investigations conducted at the site using a
computerized spreadsheet program titled RBCA Tool Kit for Chemical
Releases, Version 14, developed by Groundwater Services, Inc of
Houston, Texas. The RBCA software was developed to meet the
requirements of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM)
PS-104 Standard Provisional Guide for Risk-Based Corrective Action
Input parameters used for the analysis will include soil and groundwater
analytical data collected from the site
Task 11- Quarterly Status Reporting (4 events per year)
Quarterly Status Report (QSR) will be prepared and submitted every 90
days to the RWQCB as required until otherwise directed The QSR will
provide a summary of all actions conducted on the site during that quarter
Main\D\Environmental\Parmafrexaco\Workplan\042003 wpd 16
