The report will contain boring logs
for each exploration boring drilled, logs and construction details of each
monitoring well installed, results of all laboratory and slug testing, site
maps showing features relevant to the investigation, maps showing ground
water contamination and ground water flow, and cross-sections illustrating
the subsurface geology.
PHASE 3
Exceltech will prepare a report which will summarize methods of
eliminating or abating refined petroleum product soil and ground water
contamination. It should be recognized that there are a wide variety of
remedial techniques, and that the selection of the most appropriate method
will Involve factors beyond the strict technical feasibility (cost, regulatory
acceptance, environmental impact suitability, and property values). The
report will review methods such as biological degradation, mechanical
abatement, air stripping, carbon adsorption, vapor well recovery of product,
and combinations with extraction wells to limit the spread of contamination.
The intent of the report will be to provide Roberts Oil Company with a
preliminary review of the various options available. A complete report,
including engineering design and costs, will be offered as part of the
remdial action plan developed under Task 13.
