March 16, 1988 <br />Roberts Oil Company <br />Page 13 <br />Exceltech will develop a Remedial Action Plan to meet the requirements of <br />the RWQCB and SJLHD, and which will be reviewed by Roberts Oil Company <br />prior to submittal to the RWQCE3 and SJLHD. Currently, a product recovery <br />remediation is envisioned. The content of the Plan will be dependent on the <br />results of the previous work tasks and the comments of the interested <br />agencies. Please note that the Plan cannot be implemented until it has BEEN <br />reviewed and receives agency approvals. <br />PHASE 4 <br />Following approval from the RWQCB and SJLHD of the Remdial Action Plan <br />developed under Task 13, Exceltech will implement the approved plan, at the <br />request of Roberts Oil Company. <br />Currently it is anticipated that the Plan will use 2 -inch diameter <br />product/water recovery pumps located in existing and planned 2 -inch <br />monitoring wells. Since the product distribution and quantity appear to be <br />limited, this approach allows flexibility for recovery and limited pumping to <br />induce product flow back to the wells. The individual wells selected for the <br />recovery will depend upon the results of Phases 1 and 2. The selected wells <br />will be connected by trenches to a recovery tank for recycling or disposal as <br />Roberts Oil desires. Additional wells may be added to the system, depending <br />on need during the program. <br />As part of the overall site remediation, regulatory agencies may require <br />excavation of contaminated soils to reduce the potential for the spread of <br />
