CHARTER WAY, STOCKTON <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> A soil and ground water investigation is currently underway at a former retail fertilizer facility at <br /> 1904 W. Charter Way, Stockton. The facility has been operated by Occidental Chemical, J.R. <br /> Simplot, and PureGro; it is owned by Volpi Ranch. Currently, there are 12 monitoring wells onsite <br /> and three wells offsite, as shown in Attachment A. Monitoring conducted since March 1995 has <br /> shown that the groundwater beneath the site contains triazine pesticides, organophosphorus <br /> pesticides, carbamates, fumigants, phenoxy herbicides, volatile organics, and nitrogen products. <br /> Upon request, plans and specifications for remediation of the soil and ground water shall be <br /> submitted to the Board for review and approval prior to construction activities. Any monitoring <br /> well(s) constructed after the date of this Order shall be sampled and analyzed as directed below, and <br /> added to the monitoring program. <br /> GROUND WATER MONITORING <br /> The ground water monitoring program for the wells shown in Attachment A, and any additional <br /> wells installed after the date of this Order, shall include the constituents listed below'. The <br /> collection of quality assurance/quality control samples, and the method of sample collection, shall <br /> follow the approved Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP). If organochlorines are not detected in the <br /> first monitoring event, then it is not necessary to include this scan in subsequent events. However, if organochlorines <br /> are detected, then this scan shall be included for that well. <br />
