(AGE).
The Letter provides a summary of the 26 February 2009 meeting yvith Geweke, AGE, and Regional
Board staffs, held to address Geweke's concerns that company financial issues were affecting their
ability to continue all approved work. All parties at the meeting agreed to the following:
Geweke would provide a Letter with a schedule for proposed activities during 2009,
Reductions in monitoring to three monitoring wells (MW-8, MW-9, and MW-14) during the first
quarter of 2009, then evaluate those reductions in the quarterly report due 30 April 2009, and
to sample only for those constituents detected during the previous calendar year;• .
Evaluate the first two quarters of 2009 data for contaminant concentration rebound in the above
wells, in response to shutdown of the onsite ozone injection remediation system, approved per
Regional Board staff letter dated 21 January 2009; and
• Postpone the approved insitu chemical oxidation pilot study near offsite MW-9 while evaluating
the above data. If contaminant concentrations remain stable and show a declining trend
(rebound does not occur in the wells), then the pilot study may be cancelled. The Letter
requests postponement of the pilot study until December 2009.
The schedule proposed in the Letter is approved. If contaminant rebound occurs in groundwater
during the first quarter of 2009 or in subsequent quarters, then contact me as soon as possible by
phone or email, to discuss restarting the ozone injection system. Please give the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department and myself at least three working days notice prior to initiating
fieldwork, including changing the proposed 30 March 2009 well sampling date.
