a..
November 7, 1986 AGS 8691-3
Beacon Service Station #1-502 - Lodi, California
CONCLUSIONS
Laboratory analysis and subjective inspection of samples
indicates that contamination of ground water has occurred in the
area of, or possibly up gradient from, MW-1 and MW-2. There is
no conclusive evidence of contamination of water from MW-3 . No
contamination of soil was detected in any of the three borings.
Previous work had indicated that some of the soil below the
former diesel tank had been contaminated with diesel fuel, and
showed no evidence of gasoline.
Possible reasons for this apparent contradiction are as follows:
1. The ground water contamination is the result of
previous events on site, which were not detectable at
the time of the most recent tank testing and removal.
2. The ground water contamination may be the result of
offsite activities, and not the result of leakage at
the Beacon station. Another service station is located
across Elm Street to the north of the site, and tanks
at this station would be directly up the calculated
gradient from MW-1 and MW-2.
12
.4,o o/ied GeoSystems
