The drains located at this
location are plumbed to the oillwater separator.
• 550 gallon ASTs (3): These ASTs are used to store three separate types of oil used
when the locomotives are serviced. The oil is plumbed from each AST through above-
ground piping to individual service bays within the maintenance building. These ASTs
are located within a fenced enclosure that is part of the maintenance building and
located along the southern half of the eastern exterior wall. The ASTs are supported on
an elevated concrete foundation and metal grate and surrounded by a concrete
containment sump. The drains located at this location are plumbed to the oil/water
separator.
350 gallon AST: This AST contains diesel fuel and is located within a fenced enclosure
that is part of the maintenance building and located along the southern half of the
eastern exterior wall. The AST is supported on an elevated concrete foundation and
metal grate and surrounded by a concrete containment sump. This AST is designated
for use within motor vehicles associated within the Facility. An electrically powered
pump and dispenser hose was observed affixed to the AST. The drains located at this
location are plumbed to the oil/water separator.
• 750 gallon AST: This AST contains sludge collected from the oil water separator.
Leaks from this tank flaw to a drain that is plumbed to the oil/water separator.
• 4500 gallon ASTs (2): Two separate generators are located with the Facility. The first
is an emergency power backup generator and is located near the mid-point of the
eastern exterior wall of the maintenance building. The second generator provides
emergency power to the pumps associated with the fire suppression system within the
Facility. Each of these generators contains a self-contained, double-walled, steel, diesel
fuel tank with a capacity of less than 500 gallons.
55 gallon drums: Up to 12, 55-gallon metal drums are stored within the northeast
corner of the Oil/Water Separator Building. These drums contain various weights of
petroleum hydrocarbon based lubricants, used oil filters, oily water, and oily rags or other
used absorbent materials. The drums are stored on secondary containment pallets and
are located behind a locking fence.
• Lubricant Rack: A lubricant rack containing eight 30-gallon tanks is located within the
central area of the OiiiWater Separator Building. This rack has a built-in secondary
containment system and a drip collection pan.
55 gallon drum: One 55-gallon drum is located at the train wash building.
