The meeting will include presentation <br /> of the Health and Safety Plan. <br /> 1 <br /> 5.3 Work Zone: <br /> A restricted zone will be maintained on the site. Protective clothing and equipment, as <br /> I described in Section 5.4, will be available to all personnel working within the restricted <br /> zone. All electrical equipment in a Class I zone at the site will be explosion proof. Any <br /> lesser classified electrical zone as defined by the National Electrical Code, 1984 (NEC 84) <br /> will be fitted with the appropriate electrica". enclosures. All electrical equipment will be <br /> serviced according to requirements of the NEC 84. <br /> 5.4 Protective Equipment and Clothing <br /> 5.4.1 Equipment Required for Field Personnel <br /> Level D is the basic field work uniform. Personnel Protection Equipment(PPE)for <br /> Level D includes: <br /> • Coveralls or comfortable cotton/polyester work clothes <br /> • Boots or heavy shoes, preferably with safety toes <br /> • Safety glasses or goggles <br /> • Hard hat if required for work activity <br /> .:; Gloves,when sampling or working on equipment <br /> Level C protection will be required when air monitoring information dictates that <br /> a higher degree of PPE is necessary and that potential for the inhalation of airbor:e <br /> contaminants exists at levels of approximately 50 ppm TPH in ambient air in the <br /> work arca. Level C respiratory protection also assumes that the measured <br /> concentrations of airborne contaminants dons not exceed the level of protection <br /> afforded by air purifying respirators and that sufficient oxygen exists for breathing. <br /> • Half mask respirator with activated carbon cartridges <br /> 5.4.2 Equipment Required to be Available an Site <br /> • First-aid Kit with Eye Wash Station <br /> • Fire Extinguisher (Appropriate for Chemicals on Site) <br /> Construction Tape Outline Barriers for Work Delineation <br /> - -- _NG_SMOKING Signs--- — —-- —--------- <br /> . - -- <br />
