April 26, 1988 AGS Job No. 2005-P
Delta Truck Sales, Stockton, California
sampled below the impoundment to indicate background levels of
total petroleum hydrocarbons, soluble lead, and California
Assessment Manual (CAM) metals by inductively coupled plasma
(ICP) method. If metal concentrations are detected in excess of
ten (10) times the STLC and less than the TTLC, analysis of
soluble metals by WET procedures outlined in section 66700 of
Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations will be made.
Analytical Procedures
Spoil pile samples and soil collected from the limits of the
impoundment and background excavations will be screened initially
by analyses for oil and Grease, by EPA Method 413 .21 and for
total lead by EPA Method 7420. These analyses will be performed
under a rush turnaround of 48 to 72 hours. If initial results
q indicate no detected contamination, the samples will be submitted
s
for the following analyses:
o Total petroleum hydrocarbons by EPA Method 3550 and EPA
Method 8015 (modified) . This analysis will be
performed using a gas chromatograph equipped with a
fused capillary column and a flame ionization detector.
A motor oil standard will be run by the laboratory.
o Purgeable organics by EPA Method 8240 . All compounds
# found, including chlorinated hydrocarbons, benzene,
toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes, will be reported by
the laboratory.
