T*o . Sep14 , 92 15 :24 No . 007 P .04
5.0
ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SAMPLING AND ANALYSES OF SELECTED
OFFSITE PRIVATE WELLS AND OTHER ONSITE WELLS
5.0.1. Options 2, 3, and 4 were exercised to investigate the eastern edge of the TCE plume
and to identify potential contamination in privately owned welPsurrounding the b17RW-
Tracy site. Table 5-1 lists the 22 wells that were sampledag pail of these Options. Figure
5-1 shows the well locations sampled under
p Options 2, 3k ana 4. F'iguro 5-2 through 5-4
show detailed locations of the on-site wells sam led. Field activities, consisting of
developing one well (LM 45), and purging and samt ng 22 wells were conducted from 27
April through 4 May 1992. Each of the 22 wells, sampled was analyzed for the analyses
listed on Table 5.2. A t
ppendix F contains summarytables for each of the analytical methods
performed on the groundwater samples collected. Appe'rdix G contains the analytical data
sheets associated with the wells sampled-es,.part of Options 2, 3, and 4 for the WMP. Quality
r
assurance quality control (QA/QC) review of,the analytical results was performed on the data
submitted b the laboratory and is rovided'in-A
Y rY p , pperidix G.
5.1 PURGING AND SAMPLING
5.1.1 Private Wells '
5.1.1,1. Groundw%'from each of the 13 privately owned wells was purged prior to
sampling by opening the-;gigot closest to the well head, with the exception of well 5 (Raspo
AG-3) which"wgs purged 'by allowing water to flow from a pipe connected to the well head.
Periodically duringp trging, water quality parameters (pH, temperature, and specific
conductance) were measured and recorded in the water sampling log books. Purging
continued until water quality parameters stabilized.
$.1.1.2. Groundwater samples were collected from the spigot closest to the well head, with
one exception. Agricultural well 5 (Raspo AG-3) was sampled from the pipe connected to
the well head opening. The water samples were poured directly into pre-cleaned, labeled
sample bottles supplied by the analytical laboratory. Upon completion of sampling, water
quality parameters were again measured and recorded in the sampling log book. All samples
QNWJS40.ImDRW-DMN 5-1
MOt I DDjOBU
