Defense Depot Tracy . -2- • 24 July 1987
7 July 1987 Regional Board representatives met with Jack Haines and
indicated more information is needed to update Waste
Discharge Requirements. We agreed the information
request would be made by letter.
We have the following information on file in our office:
I. Enclosure 23 to DDT Basic Operations Plan (This was included as an
attachment to a letter to the EPA. )
2 . Information sent by DDT on 29 April 1985:
a. Narrative description of existing sewage facilities.
b. Location maps of sewage facilities.
C. Table 5-1, Size and Capacities of Principal Units of
Existing Sewage Plant.
d. Figure 5-2 , Schematic Flow Diagram of Treatment Plant
e. Facilities Engineering Operating Log for March 1985.
A short description of the facilities along with the information
required to revise and update waste discharge requirements follows:
1. The sanitary sewage plant. The plant has a capacity of 500, 000
gpd, but average flows are about 55, 000 gpd according to the
information submitted in 1985.
INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS
a. Copy of Facilities Engineering operating Log for a recent
period.
b. Results of representative effluent analyses for Chlorine
residual, BOD, Total Dissolved Solids, pH, Standard Minerals,
Total Coliform Organisms, Nitrates, Specific Conductivity.
C. Dissolved oxygen content of disposal pond.
d. Daily maximum and 30-day average flows to ponds.
e. Record of pond freeboard.
2. Influent to the lined industrial waste ponds. Waste streams
include rinse waters and spent solutions from clearing and
stripping operations, waste steam cleaning waters from stock
readiness and maintenance operations, wastewater from paint booth
cascade filters, cooling waters from vapor degreaser and heat
sealing machines.
INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS
a. Records of frequency and volume for all flows. Full
characterization of waste flows. Are those listed above still
current? Which flows are generated intermittently?
b. Daily maximum and 30-day average flows to ponds.
C. Water analyses of influent to include ICAP for metals, EPA
Method 624 , and SPA Method 625.
d. Dissolved oxygen content of receiving pond.
e. Record of pond freeboard.
