1.2.1 Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP) <br /> Based upon the stated requirements of this SOW the contractor will be required to develop and <br /> follow a Site Safety Health Plan (SSHP) for all field work to be performed. Occupational Safety <br /> and Health Act(OSHA) Standards 29 CFR 1910, Section .120(b) and 29 CFR 1926, Section <br /> .65(B) require employers to develop and implement a written SSHP for employees involved in <br /> hazardous waste operations. <br /> A SSHP will be prepared covering on-site work to be performed by the contractor and all <br /> subcontractors. The SSHP will establish,in detail, the protocols necessary for the anticipation, <br /> recognition, evaluation, and control of hazards associated with each task performed. The level of <br /> detail provided in the SSHP will be tailored to the type of work, complexity of operations to be <br /> performed, and hazards anticipated. <br /> Topics required by the standards above include but are not limited to the following: <br /> Project/Site Conditions Site Task and Operations <br /> Medical Surveillance Training <br /> Safety hazards Spill and Discharge Control <br /> Chemical Hazards Health and Safety Manager <br /> Physical Agents Material Handling Procedures <br /> Sanitation Personal Protective Equipment <br /> Staff Organization,Qualifications, and Responsibilities <br /> Safety Procedures,Engineering Controls, and Work Practices <br /> Personal Hygiene and Decontamination <br /> Emergency Equipment and First Aid Requirements <br /> The SSHP will be made available to COE representatives, Tracy DD personnel, and all other <br /> agencies involved with this project upon request. <br /> 1.2.2 Permits and Notifications <br /> A copy of all permits, licenses, or other requirements necessary for execution of the work shall be <br /> submitted to the Corps of Engineers Representative. Before beginning work,the contractor shall <br /> coordinate with Tracy DD Installation Environmental Coordinator(IEC),Marshall Cloud 209- <br /> 982-2086, for guidance in type of permits and licenses needed. A copy of all such correspondence <br /> shall be furnished. The Contractor shall be responsible for contacting the State, County, and local <br /> governments in accordance with the applicable reporting requirements for monitoring well <br /> construction, development, and abandonment. Coordination of these responsibilities shall be <br /> through the IEC. <br /> 02671-002 <br />
