The owner <br /> or operator of a hazardous waste tank shall obtain a written assessment reviewed and certified by an independent, <br /> qualified, professional engineer, registered in California attesting that the system has sufficient structural integrity, is <br /> acceptable for the transferring, storing, and treating of hazardous waste, and that the tanks and containment system <br /> are suitably designed. Immediately have an assessment prepared for the used oil and used antifreeze tanks. Submit <br /> a schedule showing when this will be accomplished to the EHD. <br /> This is a Class I violation. <br /> 506 CCR 66265.195 Failed to conduct daily inspections of hazardous waste tank system and maintain records onsite. <br /> Inspections of the hazardous waste tank systems were not performed and documented. The following items are <br /> required to be inspected at least daily: <br /> 1. overfill/spill control equipment; <br /> 2. aboveground portions of the tank system to detect corrosion or releases of water; <br /> 3. data gathered from monitoring and leak-detection equipment; <br /> 4. outside areas of the tank system including secondary containment to detect erosion or signs of releases of <br /> hazardous waste; <br /> 5. for uncovered tanks, the level of waste in the tank. <br /> Immediately begin required inspections of the hazardous waste tank systems, and document the items inspected. <br /> Submit a copy of the inspection log for the next 30 days to the EHD. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> Page 9 of 12 <br />
