NOVA
CONSULTING
1.4 Proposed Scope of Services
The proposed scope of services for this project is as follows:
• Clear all public underground utilities prior to initiating any subsurface investigation
activities.
• Advance two (2) Geoprobe® direct push probe soil borings at the exterior of the Paul's
Cleaners tenant space. These borings will be advanced to a depth of 30'below grade or
until groundwater is encountered.
• Advance two (2) hand auger soil borings directly adjacent to the former dry cleaning
equipment in the Paul's Cleaners tenant space to assess the potential for subsurface
impacts as the result of the historic dry cleaning activities. These borings will be
advanced to a maximum depth of S'below grade.
• Field screen soil samples collected from all of the borings for organic vapors with a
photoionization detector (PID) using the bag-headspace method of field analysis, and
document any unusual odors or staining;
• Collect and submit select soil samples from the borings for laboratory chemical analysis
for volatile organic compounds (VOCs)via EPA method 8260.
• Collect groundwater samples from the exterior borings and submit to the laboratory for
chemical analysis for VOCs.
• Abandon all of the soil borings in accordance with the California well and boring code
requirements; and,
• Prepare a Limited Phase 11 Subsurface Investigation Report detailing the investigation
methods and procedures, summarizing all of the field and analytical results to date, and
providing appropriate conclusions and recommendations.
WORK PLAN PAUL'S CLEANERS AT RALEY'S STOCTON
PAGE 2 NOVA PROJECT NO.B13-0472
