Mike Pitta <br /> Page 5 <br /> April 27,2004 <br /> The following are assumed for Task 1: <br /> • The existing site health and safety plan will be updated for the weed control work <br /> • Permit application costs,should any be needed,are not included <br /> • Landowner notification and agreements for planting will be negotiated by KX4EP <br /> • No additional soil sampling will be required <br /> • Only one round of comments will be received from KMEP and the land owners for the <br /> conceptual planting plan prepared as part of Subtask B <br /> • Only one round of continents will be received from KMEP and the RWQCB for the <br /> cleanup plan prepared in Subtask C <br /> • The comments on the conceptual planting plan and cleanup plan will be minor <br /> • No site visits are necessary other than those described above <br /> • Earthwork requirements will be minor and can be generated from existing information <br /> • No meetings with the RWQCB or other agencies will be needed <br /> This scope of work does not include construction or monitoring of the phytoremediation <br /> system. This work will be included in a subsequent work directive. <br /> Task 2 - Monitor Bioremediation Pilot Study and Prepare Groundwater Monitoring Reports <br /> For a period of one year,CH2M I IILL will perform the following activities,which are <br /> related to one another: <br /> • Monitor the bioremediation pilot study that is currently being conducted in accordance <br /> with the Bioremediation Work Plan (CH2M HILL,July 3, 2003), as directed as directed <br /> in the January 30,2004 RWQCB letter. <br /> • Prepare routine groundwater monitoring reports as required by Revised MRP No. R5- <br /> 2004-0803. <br /> The bioremediation pilot study commenced on February 5,2004 with shut-down of <br /> groundwater extraction. Revised MRP No. R5-2004-0803,which was ordered by the <br /> RWQCB's Executive Officer on January 29, 2004,was prepared specifically to monitor the <br /> bioremediation pilot study and was implemented in the first quarter of 2004. In summary, <br /> this MRP includes the following work: <br /> • Quarterly monitoring of wells with consistently detectable hydrocarbon constituents (M- <br /> 10, N-7,N-8,N-15,N-16,N-17,0-1) to track remediation progress. <br />
