Former Countryside Market,Stockton, California
Feasibility Study and Interim Remedial Action Plan May 20,2013
Given the relatively low toxicities of petroleum hydrocarbons, excluding the above-referenced
constituents, the final cleanup level for TPHg is proposed at 1,000 µg/L.
Groundwater beneath the Site and surrounding area is used for domes is purposes. The MCLS for
the primary contaminants of concern (i.e., 1,2-DCA and Benzene) are very low/difficult to achieve
throughout the existing zone of impacted groundwater, and may not be feasible using the best
available cleanup technologies.
State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) Resolution No. 92-49 allows for cessation of active
remedial measures at interim cleanup levels, above final cleanup concentrations (i.e., when active
remediation is no longer feasible/cost-effective and natural attenuation p cesses can efficiently serve
to reduce the residual concentrations to final cleanup levels). Residual or background concentrations
may not meet the cleanup standards at the time of requested closure, but rather the standards within
a 'reasonable period", interpreted by the SWRCB as decades or longer. Therefore, in addition to the
final cleanup levels, SGI may propose interim cleanup levels within the p ume as part of the final RAP
if it can be established that such levels will not result in an exceeden a of final cleanup levels at
receptor points (i.e., downgradient domestic wells).
Fea.O,I4 swy and lFeasb*SMY B IRAP_T"FnaLcbc 8-2 IThe Source Group,Inc.
