Former Countryside Market,Stockton, California
Feasibility Study and Interim Remedial Action Plan May 20,2013
9.0 REPORTING
Upon completion of the proposed vertical plume delineation study, feasibility testing and data collection
activities detailed herein, SGI will implement the IRAP. The initial results wil be presented and discussed
in a separate document or in conjunction with an upcoming groundwater m nitoring and sampling report,
and will include a discussion of how well the results satisfy the reme Jial objectives. Should the
assessment results warrant a modified or alternative groundwater clE anup approach and/or soil
remediation, the technical basis for such a potential shift in the overall 3trategy will be provided for
CRWQCB review and approval.
9.1 Initial Progress Reporting
Initial progress reporting will contain details about system installation and start-up, including the
methodologies used for well installation/construction, data collection, and tc illustrate the modifications to
the engineering design for the full-scale sparge system. Sparge testing anJ data logger field sheets will
also be provided, as well as waste recycling documentation and laboratory analytical reports/chain-of-
custody documentation. Additionally, test and observation well permits anc borings logs will be included
along with a figure depicting the newly installed well locations.
The testing data will be graphically presented in terms of well specific changes in both water levels and
DO/ORP readings at various stages, including pre- and post-injection periods, as well as at low to
moderate injection flow rates. Based on the results and measured distances between injection and
observation wells, an effective ROI will be determined along with well specific oxygen
uptake/biodegradation rates.
The final report will be reviewed in its entirety and signed by a Calibornia Professional Engineer.
Groundwater monitoring and sampling information will be included with the report (if available) or will be
submitted under separate cover.
9.1.1 Mass Estimate of Petroleum Hydrocarbons in Soil
Since recent soil analytical data from the former UST area is not available (i.e., last boring in this area
was installed during 2001 per Section 2.0), it is currently not feasible to accurately estimate the
petroleum hydrocarbon mass remaining in the vadose and saturated zc nes beneath the Site. Such
an estimate is useful for a number of reasons, including being able o theoretically calculate the
amount of air required to cleanup residually impacted vadose zor a soils and remediate the
groundwater plume via sparging.
As discussed in Section 5.1, soil samples will be collected for analy is during the installation of
proposed wells AS-1, AS-2, OBS-1 and VW-1 (feasibility testing phase), and during the subsequent
implementation of the IRAP (Section 7.0). The analyses will include physical properties data that is
also useful for groundwater velocity and oxygen uptake/biodegradation rate calculations, potential
Feasibility Sh Y aeM lFeasibility SN yBlR P-TW Final.dw 9-1 The Source Group,Inc.
