' On February 17, 1991, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Div35aon issued a letter to the owners requiring that because <br /> levels of contamination encountered during tank removal opera- <br /> tions exceeded allowable limits, a groundwater investigation will <br /> be necessary. Time limits were given for compliance with State & <br /> local regulations; refer to Exhibit F for a copy of that letter. <br /> ' The proposed workplan which follows addresses those requirements. <br /> WORKPLAN FOR PLACING THREE (3) GROUNDWATER MONITORING WELLS AT <br /> 1876 COUNTRY CLUB DRIVE, STOCKTON, CA. <br /> ' to The approximate locations of the 3 wells are <br /> ' <br /> plat <br /> VZ; the actual locations will be marked & identified , and under- <br /> ground utilities & lines will be located prior to commencing <br /> operations. The final l ocations of the wells F casing tops <br /> elevations will be surveyed after completion of operations. <br /> 2. A properly licensed mobile drilling rig equipped with either <br /> e 1/4" or 10 1/4" DD auger flights will be used; a drillinq <br /> permit application will be submitted as soon as all bids have <br /> been received and re ri ewed. Sufficient dean flights wi l l be <br /> available to complete each well ; the/ will be thoroughly steam <br /> cleaned between wells to avoid the Possibility of cross-contami- <br /> nation. Water is available on location for use in cleaning <br /> operations. <br /> 3. Soil samples will be taken at 5 ' intervals from S ' bgl to the <br /> water table as directed by the geologist in charge. Either an <br /> 18" California Modified split.-.spoon sampler or wireline operated <br /> continuous coring equipment will be used. <br /> 4. Soil samples will be briefly described, promptly sealed <br /> with teflon tape & plastic end caps, & secured with duct tape. <br /> They wall be clearly labeled and placed on ice pending transport <br /> to FGL laboratory for analysis. <br /> S. The preserved samples will be transferred under chain of <br /> custody to the laboratory with instructions to test for o7Ek <br /> (EPA 8424, ) THP-6 (EPA 5030/8415, ) ansa total lead, (LVFT. ) <br /> 6. Drill cuttings will be contained in properly marked & sealed <br /> drums; they will be stored on site pending results of labor-story <br /> results. Any rinsate or other fluids generated or encountered <br /> will also be placed in sealed drums. <br /> 7. Each boring will be advanced a mimimum of 14 feet below the <br /> water table, which as estimated to be approximately 25 ' b9 l at <br /> f 4 <br /> I <br />
