• i <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division <br /> December 21, 1994 (94-47-8620) <br /> • Temporarily install slotted, 3/4-inch diameter PVC pipe in several of the CPT holes The <br /> pipe elevations will be determined relative to each other and groundwater levels measured <br /> to allow for a groundwater gradient estimation <br /> • Submit the groundwater samples to a state-certified analytical laboratory and analyzed for <br /> total petroleum hydrocarbons, as gasoline (TPH-G), benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, total <br /> xylenes (BTEX) <br /> • Seal the CPT holes with a cement/bentonite slurry after groundwater samples are <br /> collected <br /> • Obtain right-of-entry access to perform an off-site investigation on the Saint Bernadette <br /> Catholic Church property located in the estimated downgradient direction (northeast) <br /> Pbase 2 <br /> • If field screening or analytical results of the initial groundwater samples indicate the <br /> downgradient extent of petroleum hydrocarbons ►n groundwater has not been established, <br /> Fugro will re-mobilize the CPT rig and collect up to four additional HydroPunch' samples <br /> on the church property (Figure 2) <br /> Phase 3 <br /> • Propose the Iocations of an appropriate number of groundwater monitoring wells to the <br /> SJCPHS/EHD, based upon the results of the CPT/HydroPuncho investigation <br /> • Install the monitoring wells according to the standards found in the San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division Well Standards <br /> • Collect soil samples at least every five feet, at changes in lithology, or where hydrocarbon <br /> evidence 1s noted The samples will be geologically logged and inspected for volatile <br /> hydrocarbons with a photo-ionization detector (PID) Selected representative soil samples <br /> will be analyzed for TPH-G and BTEX <br /> • Determine well elevations relative to a site benchmark Water levels will be measured <br /> and the wells purged and sampled according to SJCPHS/EHD requirements The <br /> groundwater samples will be analyzed for TPH-G and BTEX <br /> Fugro will continue to remove separate-phase hydrocarbons from MW-1 and RW-1 daily While <br /> this workplan primarily addresses the impact of the release on groundwater, a soil assessment is <br /> proposed to be performed during UST removal activities,tentatively scheduled for early February <br /> 1995 <br /> 94478620 AWP 3 - <br />
