Soil sample 01 was analyzed for total recoverable petroleum hydrocarbons
(TRPH) in general accordance with EPA Method No. 418.1. In addition, each of the soil samples
collected on September 18, 2003 were analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes
(BTEX) and fuel oxygenates in accordance with EPA Method No. 8260B.
TPH-d was detected in soil samples D2(220 milligrams per kilogram(mg/kg)),D5 (2,200 mg/kg),
D8(1,300 mg/kg)and.D9(2,300 mg/kg). TPH-d was not detected in of the remaining soil samples
analyzed for TPH-d. TPH-g was detected in soil sample D5 at a concentration of 28 mg/kg. TPH-g
was not detected in any of the other soil samples analyzed for TPH-g.
BTEX and fuel oxygenates were not detected in any of the soil samples collected and analyzed on
September 18, 2003 with the exception of soil samples D5 and D9. Soil samples D5 and D9
contained total xylenes at concentrations of 0.78 mg/kg and 1.3 mg/kg, respectively. Benzene,
toluene, ethylbenzene and fuel oxygenates were not detected in soil samples D5 or D9. Soil sample
results have been suttnnarized in Table 1.
Soil sample locations, depths and laboratory analyses were specified and overseen by Dina Abate
of the San Joaquin County Department of Environmental Health.
Soil Sampling on November 3, 2003
FREY returned to the Site on November 3, 2003 and collected four soil samples from beneath a
former fresh oil pipe line. Soil samples were labeled P6 through P9. Soil sample locations are
shown on Figure 2.
Soil samples P6 through P9 were analyzed for TPH-d, BTEX and MTBE in accordance with EPA
Method Nos. 8015M and 8260B,respectively. Concentrations of TPH-d, BTEX and MTBE were
not detected in soil samples P6 through P9. Soil sample results have been summarized in Table 1.
Soil sample locations, depths and laboratory analyses were specified and overseen by Dina Abate
of the San Joaquin County Department of Environmental Health.
OBJECTIVE
The objective of this workplan is to excavate andremove soil containing concentrations ofpetroleum
hydrocarbons from the vicinity of soil sample D5,D8 and D9.
