On February 17, 1995 PHSEHD made comments and requested
modification to work plan which was submitted in an addendum to the work plan on February
23, 1995. The plan and addendum were approved with additional comments.
On April 25, 1995, GTI, Del-Tech, and V&W installed 3 groundwater monitoring wells, 2 drilled
boreholes, and 6 hand auger soil borings in an attempt to evaluate the lateral extent of soil and
groundwater impacted by the release of gasoline on this property. The wells were monitored on
May 4, 1995 and soil and groundwater samples were tested for TPH-G and BTEX compounds.
On August 11, 1995, GTI prepared a report of the geologic activities of this investigation and
Del-Tech prepared a summary report including the chemical testing results. Mary Meays of
PHSEHD called on August 29, 1995 with comments on the report and requested that GTI
provide conclusions and recommendations. This was immediately prepared and submitted for
review. Copies of the report and addendum are attached. On November 9, 1995, PHSEHD
requested additional soil and groundwater investigation be performed and that a work plan be
submitted proposing the work to be performed.
On January 29, 1996 GTI prepared a work plan for additional site characterization and on
February 23, 1996 PHSEHD approved the plan with comments and modifications. Before the
additional borehole and wells would be drilled, the site would undergo additional groundwater
monitoring establish a trend in groundwater gradient.
On January 20, 1997 GTI prepared an addendum to the January 29, 1996 work plan. On
February 3, 1997 Mary Meays approved the plan with comments. Five additional water table
groundwater monitoring wells and one deeper monitoring well were installed on April 29 & 30,
1997. GTI prepared a report Soil and Groundwater Investigation, August 5, 1997, summarizing
this work and the data obtained.
Proposed Direction of Proiect
The additional site characterization work plan details the work outlined below. As this work is
being performed and information is being obtained, we will evaluate it to determine if
modifications should be made to streamline the investigative process and bring cost savings to
the client and the Fund.
