1 8020) Samples submitted to the laboratory under the (COC) <br /> will be analyzed for total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon products (in the gasoline range) by <br /> modified EPA Method 8015, <br /> minimum detection limit 1 mg/kg and Benzene, Toluene, Ethyl Benzene, Total Xylene EPA <br /> Method 8020, minimum detection limit 3 ug/kg <br /> All of the bonngs will be grouted with neat cement and finished otf to grade All <br /> decontamination water will be contained in D O T 17 Steel drums and stored on site until proper <br /> disposal methods are determined <br /> The installation of the 2" diameter monitoring wells will be completed by a truck mounted <br /> hollow stem drilling ng The outside diameter of the hollow stem is 8 0 inches The soil <br /> sampling interval for this task and the laboratory analysis will be the same as in the hand bonngs <br /> stated above The overall depth of the proposed monitoring wells will be approximately 25 feet <br /> Ten feet of Schedule 40 P V C blank followed by fifteen feet of a Schedule 40 P V C screening <br /> interval will complete the monitoring well The screening interval will be of 01" blot size and <br /> will be placed so that 5 feet of screen will be above the water and 10 feet below the static water <br /> level The exact depth and or location of the well screen will be determined in ,the field by the <br /> on site geologist, during the drilling of the monitoring well The well screen packing material <br /> will be of MontereySand #2 for the entire screening interval and two feet above where a <br /> bentonite plug will be installed Then a bentonite/cement seal will be tremmied up the annulus <br /> of the boring to the surface A waterproof Christy box will be installed to protect and seal the <br /> access to the well along with a locking watertight well cap <br /> Development of the wells will be completed by surging and pumping techniques within 48 hours <br /> of the installation of the well to remove the fines and sediments during installation and establish <br /> a efficient conduit for monitoring the aquifer The wells will then be allowed to stabilize for 24 <br /> hours <br /> Upon returning, a detailed monitoring well log will be initiated for each monitoring well The <br /> wells will then be screened first for the presence of volatile aromatics with a portable <br /> photoionization detector (Thermodyne 580B) at the well head and these measurements will be <br /> recorded To determine if floating product is present a product interface meter will be used to <br /> detect any undissolved free floating product During the previous two activities, the wells will <br /> 5 <br />
