Pilot test data are summarized in Table 5 . <br /> 4.2, SVE PILOT TEST SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS <br /> A total of four soil gas/vapor samples were collected during the pilot test. Soil gas/vapor samples <br /> were collected at two-hour intervals from the sample port of the extraction well to measure <br /> hydrocarbon concentrations in the extracted gas/vapor. The samples were collected in Tedlar bags <br /> using an air pump. Samples were transported in a chilled container under chain-of-custody to Cal <br /> Tech Environmental Laboratories, a California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified <br /> laboratory. Each sample was analyzed within 72 hours for: <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g), benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) and methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) in <br /> accordance with EPA Methods 8015 and 8020. <br /> i <br /> h. <br /> 4.3 . SVE PILOT TEST FINDINGS <br /> Analytical results of soil gas/vapor samples and pilot test results are based on field data collected on <br /> 23 August 2005 . <br /> G <br /> 4.3 . 1 . Analytical Results of Soil Gas Samples <br /> TPH-g was detected in the soil gas/vapor samples (vapor samples) at concentrations ranging from <br /> 8,700 gg/I to 10,000 µg/1 . Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes were detected in the <br /> gas/vapor samples at concentrations as high as 55 ltg/l benzene (In fluent 1240), 170 pg/I toluene <br /> (In fluent 1440 and 1540), 87 µg/1 ethylbenzene (Influend 1240), and 310 µg/1 total xylenes (Influent <br /> 1540). MTBE was detected at concentrations ranging between 120 µg/l (Influent 1040) and 160 µg/I <br /> (In fluent 1440). Analytical results of the gas/vapor samples are included in Table 4 .
