QC06gicaI ncwcs lnc. Page 13
Interim Remedial Action Plan
Project No.723.2
March 7,2005
unknown if the aquiferY test will reach stead state conditions. However, a "Discussion of
Applicable Equations" is included in Appendix B.
In the event that a cone of depression with a large radius develops due to the groundwater
extraction from EW-2, the data will also be analyzed by distance-drawdown methods. To use
distance-drawdown accurately, the cone of depression must reach at least three observation
wells that are located at three different distances from the extraction well.
The data that is generated will be used to complete the site conceptual model and for
preparation of the final Corrective Action Plan once the down gradient plume is defined.
j
5.0 SCHEDULE AND REPORTING
Upon system installation and startup an interim progress report will be submitted to
SJC/EHD. This report will cover the new well installation dual phase system installation
and details pertaining to the initial radius of influence testing. Recommendations for system
improvements will be made if necessary.
5.1 Final Corrective Action Plan
A work plan for further plume definition will be submitted to the SJC/EHD for approval.
When the site is fully characterized then the performance of the above extractions schemes
will be evaluated in conjunction with future site characterization. GTI will prepare a final
Corrective Action Plan (CAP) in accordance with CCR, Title 23, Divsion3, Chapter 16,
Section 2725 (b). The CAP will include three corrective action alternatives and a
recommendation for implementing the most technologically and cost effective alternative. i
5.2 Proposed Schedule of Work
Thero osed schedule for the interim remedial work is as follows:
p p
Task Description Completion Data
• Submit work plan for dual phase extraction March, 2005
f • Receive approval for the work plan April,2005
•+ • Prepare budget/USTCFP three bid process May, 2005
• Submit SJVUAPCD permit applications June, 2005
• Award Bids/Order Remedial Equipment June, 2005
• Installation & startup of remedial system August, 2005
• Perform remedial effectiveness testing September, 2005
• Prepare interim progress report October, 2005
• Prepare a final corrective action plan - January, 2006
L
