Final Results - Limited Phase II Environmental Site Assessment Page 2
' Proposed EI Dorado Apartments Development
Stockton, California
May 23, 2002 CTE Job No. 20-1232
1 From our research, we have found no evidence that the site was used for gasoline service stations or
similar businesses in the past. From a review of historical aerial photographs several structures were
' present at the site, the most notable of which was a rectangular building(of unknown use) seen on a
1957 photograph (Figure 4) and a historical topographic map (Figure 5). This building was located
adjacent to a railroad spur that was also observed. Also, the geotechnical report prepared for the site
(Raney Geotechnical, 2002) mentioned that the Patterson Glass Company previously occupied the
site.
SUMMARY OF PRELIMINARY ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSES RESULTS
A total of 20 samples were collected from the five borings. Fourteen of these samples were tested for
' concentrations of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon-gasoline range(TPH-g),-diesel range(TPH-d), and
extended range (TPH-e); analyses results are shown in the following table.
' TABLE—SUMMARY OF PRELIMINARY TOTAL PETROLEUM HYDROCARBON(TPH)RESULTS
Boring No. and Depth TPH-gasoline range TPH-diesel range(mg/kg) TPH-extended range
(mg ) (Mg/kg)
' B-1 A 10' ND ND 7.0
B-1 15' ND ND ND
' B-2 a,5' ND 3.1 55
B-2 a; 10' 130 810 1100
B-2 a,15' 170 780 960
' B-2 .,.20' ND 3.4 5.3
B-3 (a? 10' ND ND ND
B-3 (71,15' ND ND ND
B-4 a, 10' ND ND ND
' B-4 n 15' ND ND ND
B-5 ,5' ND 160 590
B-5 ar 10' 120 530 660
' B-5 X15' 220 970 1300
B-5 Itr,20' 5.7 79 100
' As shown in the above table, significant TPH contamination was found in two of the five borings(B-2
and B-5). The observed TPH contamination included all three ranges (gasoline, diesel, and
extended); however, the highest levels were found in the diesel and extended ranges. Extended
ranges correspond to motor oils or similar heavy hydrocarbons.
The sample with the highest TPH concentration (sample B-5 @15') was also analyzed for Volatile
' Organic Compounds (VOCs) by EPA Method 8260 and Semi-volatile Organic Compounds
(SVOCsO by EPA Method 8270;all results were below the laboratory reporting limit.
