N
16 August 2011
AGE-NC Project No. 97-0301
• Preparation of reports.
Each of these tasks are discussed below in detail .
2 . 1 . PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES
Applicable site permits will be obtained from City of Stockton Municipal Utilities District
(sanitary sewer waste discharge) San Joaquin County (i . e . building , electrical , etc. ) , from
the SJCEHD (i . e . drilling/well installation permits) and from the San Joaquin County Air
Pollution Control District (SJCAPCD). In addition, an update to the health and safety plan
presently on-file will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health
Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational
Safety and Health Administration , U .S . Coast Guard and U .S . Environmental Protection
Agency, 1985 ). Prior to mobilization , all underground boring and trenching areas will be
clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert.
2 .2 . INSTALLATION OF DPE WELLS
For enhancement of DPE remedial operations , AGE proposes to advance pilot borings for
the installation of two on-site DPE wells. Wells are proposed in the following areas:
• One DPE well will be single-completed in the northern portion of the former UST
area , approximately 13 feet southwest of well MWA and screened between 10 and
40 feet bsg);
• One DPE well will be single-completed in the southern portion of the former tank pit
area approximately 19 feet southwest of well VW- 1 and screened between 10 and
40 feet bsg ).
2 .3 . WELL DEVELOPMENT AND SURVEY
Following installation , each of the two DPE wells will be developed to maximize water flow
and minimize the amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well during active
extraction . After development, the top of each well casing (well head ) will be surveyed by
a California registered survey engineer to determine its elevation relative to the North
American Vertical Datum 88 (NAVD88) and global positioning system (GPS ) . Upon survey
completion , the elevations and GPS coordinates will be submitted to the State of California
GeoTracker database . Procedures for well development and survey are presented in
Section 3 .2.3 .
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
