WORK PLAN FOR CHARACTERIZATION AND REMEDIATION <br />' OF STOCKPILED SOILS <br /> AND TANK PIT EXCAVATION BACKFILLING <br />' MANNA PRO FACILITY <br /> 4004 ELDORADO STREET <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br />' JULY 30, 1992 <br /> 10 INTRODUCTION <br /> Groundwater Technology, Inc has prepared and submitted this Work Plan for Characterization and <br />' Remediation of Stockpiled Soils and Tank Pit Excavation Backfillin to present the planned scope of <br /> work to be performed by Groundwater Technology Inc at the Manna Pro Corporation (Manna Pro) <br /> Facility, located at 4004 EI Dorado Street in Stockton, California (Figure t) The objectives of this <br /> current scope of work are as follows <br /> Using the results of soil samples collected pursuant to the soil sampling plan <br /> described herein as Task 1, characterize and segregate the stockpiled soil (Figure 2) <br /> based upon predetermined "target" criteria into sod that will immediately be returned <br /> to the tank pit excavation and sod that will require remediation prior to placement in <br /> the excavation <br /> Backfill the tank pit excavation with soil meeting the target criteria Backfilling and <br /> compaction testing will be performed by licensed contractors under the supervision <br /> of a qualified engineer <br /> ■ Remediate on-site that sod not meeting the target criteria using above-ground <br /> I uncontrolled aeration assisted by enhanced biodegradation Above-ground <br /> remediation of the impacted soil will proceed until concentrations of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons in the soil meet the target criteria After these target concentrations <br /> are achieved, the rernediated sod will be used to complete backfilling of the existing <br /> tank excavation <br /> Unless otherwise approved as such by San Joaquin County Public Health Service (SJCPHS) or the, <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB), the target criteria described above are not intended <br /> to constitute final cleanup levels by Manna Pro Further remediation of soil returned to the <br /> . excavation will be accomplished by in-situ soil vapor extraction as part of future remediation work on <br /> the site � L <br /> 43 GROUNDWATER <br /> TECHNOLOGY, INC <br />
